The 96th regiment, known as reapers within it's circle of operation, is a special operations tactical combat unit. Focused on first response deployment with deep insertion operations. The 96th operates with a level of independence regular army rarely enjoys. This, however, also limits the amount of military resources that can be extended to the unit for any single operation. The republic military command issues an allotment of support and auxiliary resources on a case by case basis as assignments are executed. Due to the sensitive nature of the units activities, the Jedi council has been allowed to assign a small advisory and observation council of masters and apprentices to aid in the execution of mission critical goals.

The goal of the 96th is to immerse the player in a military experience with a focus on realistic strengths and weaknesses. Limitations on support and meta-gamed military oversight that will force individual and squad rp to think more proactively when considering possible consequences.
The guild has been designed to support multiple play styles within all the classes available to a republic faction player. However there is number limitations on all but the trooper class. There will be no more than 4 Jedi and 4 to 6 smugglers within the guild at any one time.
The primary focus of the 96th. Troopers represent the elite corp of the Republic military. Hardened experienced combat veterans who have served in regular army or navy positions and qualified through the selection process for special operations. These warriors exude confidence, teamwork and duty. Trooper roleplay will be a strictly military experience with a focus on the "soldier drama" style. (Ex: We were soldiers, Band of Brothers, Battle: LA, etc, etc.) Trooper positions are a free application process. New members are accepted on a trial period known as orientation. During this time the player will undergo a period of time rotating into the unit, learning it's traditions and getting a feel for it's members. Likewise; the established members will get an opportunity to gauge you and your character as to how well you mesh with the group. While this explanation is the shortest the trooper will have a very robust experience.
Republic Intelligence: Republic intelligence is inspired by real world CIA and military intelligence. You are a trained, committed and well supplied operative assigned to the command of the 96th. In this role you will enjoy a great deal of interaction with the 96th troopers. However as with such a position, you will be under the same limitations and command structure as a member of the regular military. You will not have the freedom to come and go as you please. You will be expected to report for regular training and combat exercises as well as engage in the majority, if not all, of the operations executed by the 96th. You can also expect to work along side the Jedi members frequently.
Freelancer: As a freelancer; you enjoy the freedom of the rogue who just happens to enjoy making some credits from the republics coffers. This also means you get very little official direct support from the 96th and will be far less involved with the day to day operations or exercises of the 96th. This trade off allows you to pursue other avenues of rp within and outside the 96th that are not encouraged or available to the military members.
At this point in the Republic, the Jedi are a separate entity that do NOT enjoy any kind of military authority. They do work along side the Republic military but they hold no rank and cannot compel any republic trooper or soldier to deviate from their goals through order alone. This does not mean that the word of a Jedi and their guidance are not respected and heeded.
The system in place for Jedi is simple. Two masters. Two apprentices. The titles are not an ooc rank but merely a relationship status. One leads. One follows. Leadership, the master, is not a position that should ever be taken lightly. Your life as well as your apprentice will depend on your ability to make intelligent well informed decisions within the context of the force and the situation. You will also have the burden of endearing the lessons and tenants of the order to your apprentice. This is a mighty responsibility and as such Jedi roleplayers are invitation only. There is no application process for these positions. You will be approached.
This is all just foundation. I know it seems like a lot to take in but in reality it's just a low level of expectation. It's sets a point for you to expand upon. There is no wrong way to play your character. You will never be told that as a Jedi you cannot have romance or as a trooper you cannot have a child. That is part of the life experience. The flaws and decisions of life that make for a compelling experience. A trooper can cry. A Jedi can love. A smuggler can have honor. The environment is designed to encourage this kind of interaction. To encourage you to explore the full breath of the Star Wars universe from the gritty to the glorious.
The guild ooc structure is very diplomatic in nature. There will be final says among a select few who have proven their dedication to the overall future of the guild but everyone and their opinions will have an impact on those ultimate decisions, This is meant to be a shared experience. Ooc we are looking for friends to share in our fantasy.
If this sounds like something you would enjoy being a part of them please visit the guild hq page at the link above. I look forward to everyone's responses.
