Day in and day out were here at SSG are subjected to thread after thread and post after post of (usually) the same people airing their ass hurt e-grudges here on the forums. People do this in many ways. One of the most common is the
"How do you handle this ......" thread. Inside usually is a vague, yet not so vague description of the person/people the poster is mad at and usually looks something like this
"A certain Governor of Talus kicks puppies".
Now a mature and level headed person would just send this "certain Governor" a PM with their problems and spare the rest of us their bullshit. Yet many seem to fail to use the Personal Message option that this forum has, so I thought it best to write up a guide to help people out.
The Scenerio:Ok so Cas-Ru did something that got you all kinds of ass hurt. Your raging over a video game, your sitting there, ass cheeks clenched so tight it would cut off your partners penis if he was fucking you in the butt at that very moment. Of course you run to these forums, people must know of your e-rage. So your ready to vent, the forums are up and your mouse is hovering over the "New Topic" button. What do you do next??
Why you send a personal message instead of course. But your probably asking yourself
"But Aph, how do I do that?". Well here let me show you how.
Step One: To send a personal message you must first find the persons name here on the forums. In a perfect world you would just go to the "Members" tab at the top of these forums.
The members tab is located at the top of the forums and looks something like this.
Now for whatever reason, for right or wrong Tziena allows members to change their forum names. Many people do this, some a little bit, some a lot. Here are a few examples.
First we have the "Kinda Close"
For the most part you can put 2 and 2 together and figure out this is Cas-Ru.
Second we have the "Not Even Close"
These peoples forum names aren't even in the same galaxy as any of their character names. How the hell are we supposed to send you a PM if we cannot even find you on the members list?
And third we have the "Douche Bag"
These people not only made it so you can't see who they are, but also made it so you can't even click on their name to send them a PM! Even worse are the people who think they are cool by using the internet ALT codes that look like symbols (could not find the example I was looking for) as names. Look your not Prince. If your going to name yourself after a symbol at least put on a pair of man heels and wear head to toe purple!
Because of the above examples you will find the "Members" listing on this forum to be mostly useless.
"But how do we find them so we can send them a PM oh great Aphrodite??" you ask. Well you waste your fucking time going through thread after thread searching for the persons signature until you find it. If that fails, you know what, post a thread about them and call them every dirty name in the book for us all to see, its the least that they deserve.
The ironic part of it is, is the people who generally do this, are the ones who complain that people should communicate more, yet they purposely go out of their way to make it harder for people to communicate with them.
Ok so lets say you got lucky and you found the person you want to send a personal message to.
Step Two:Click on their name (it will be the text that is highlighted in brown)
This will bring up the persons profile. Scroll down until you see the "send this member a personal message" tab and click it.
By doing so you will bring up a nifty little screen that allows you to do all kinds of neat things?
"Like what??" Well here I'll show you!!
The Personal Message Window:
This window has all sorts of features, so lets go over them shall we?
- The Subject Line: Here is where it all begins, normally you would enter a line of text here that lets the person who is receiving your PM what the message may be about. Now sometimes you e-rage may be to great, so you might want to start off by throwing a insult in the subject line. If you are messaging a woman, calling her a cunt in the subject line is a sure way to get her attention. If you are sending a PM to a man, you could call him a bitch, or go for the death blow and call him a homophobic slang term or threaten to fuck his mother and his sister.
- The Main Body: Here is where you enter you wall of text. Try to format it so the person can read it easily even if you are threatening them with sodomy.
- Spell Check: What good is e-rage if nobody knows what the fuck you are saying?
- Preview: A good way to check to make sure your PM looks how you want it to.
- Send Message: Here is where you have to grow a pair and actually follow through with sending your message. Once you have your message all written out, spell checked and formatted how you like, just hit this tab and ta-da you have sent a PM!!
By doing so you have spared hundreds of people the pain of having to read about your bull shit pointless issues with another person or group of people that does not concern the rest of us.
