I can never draw a Lekku right...
Maybe if you used a PC to colour it, it'd look a bit nicer. But it still looks lovely with the colour penciling.

And yes, it's done in color-pencil. I'm still too digi-dumb to draw anything up on the computer, lol. Well.. excpept paint page, but....  I'll post one of those later to show you what I mean.

With the color pencil try really laying it on thick. It wasn't until someone made me do that I realized how awesome it could be. Also, draw and color from reference and try to match it as close as you can. That helps teach you how to achieve certain effects and really add some depth to your drawings.

The line art is fine, you just need more gradations and shading.

Okay, so I took Motoko's advice and worked from a live-action picture to get some of the shading down, and tried to lay it on real thick this time 'round. Trouble is, well, midway through the picture I got a little carried away, and... well... I'll let ye see for yourself.

Not so good on making the transfer from full reality to cartoon, so I don't know how much it looks like Leia, but hey. Zan said she looks like a rebel pinup-girl calender. He also had a great idea- make awhole series of them! Hehe. So now I'm looking for rebel chicks to volunteer for the Rebel Pinup Girl series! They're not really IC pictures, just something to have a little fun with. Anybody game?

1. Do something with more color
2. Try and replicate EXACTLY what is in the picture.

Also start experimenting by actually mixing colors. But be careful. You can only really add two colors together. After that, the effect is diminished.

Here's some stuff I did a while back- gosh, it must have been a year or two ago -when I was a n00b. As you can see, I hadn't quite learned how Nyx-Warda's Lekku pattern went, hehe.

For Motoko, This is the next image I'm going to try to replicate. May take a while, but I'll stay more true to this one than I did pinup Leia.
